Polishing
Prior to the polishing process a Polyvac buffing machine is used to buff the timber floor using a fine mesh abrasive to achieve an ultra smooth finish which will allow the polyurethane polish to bond with the timber floors.
We commence the polishing process by applying a coat of sealer which traps the natural colours of your timber and protects the floors from discolouring. The sealer requires an approximate drying time of an hour.
Once the sealer coat has dried the following coat is applied which is a polyurethane product which can be water based or solvent based depending on the clients requirements. This product also has multiple levels of gloss which can be chosen by the client and has a drying time of approximately 12 hours.
The final coat is chosen by the client and consists of the following options:
The final coat has an approximate drying time of 12 hours but will require 2 – 3 days to appropriately cure.

Staining
Staining is the process of changing the shade of the original timber floor by applying a tinted colour. This process takes place after the floor has been sanded and prior to the polyurethane coating being applied. There are multiple shades of tint to choose from in our large sample range.
